Kadean Construction specializes in pre-construction, design-build, construction management, and general contracting. It currently has healthcare, senior living, commercial and light industrial construction projects underway in Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kansas.

"We are extremely proud to receive this ASA award because it recognizes our commitment to working closely with our subcontractors, who we view as dedicated partners in all that we do," said Mike Eveler, president of Kadean Construction. "Our strong relationships with our subcontractors have been a big part of our company’s success for more than 50 years."

The award was presented at the ASA Midwest Council’s 24th Annual Glitter & Gold Awards Gala, which was attended by more than 360 industry members at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown St. Louis on Saturday, April 1. The gala was capped off by fireworks to celebrate the ASA chapter's 50th anniversary.

"Our awards Gala is about celebrating excellence in the St. Louis construction industry," said ASA-Midwest Council President Amy Heeger, president of AME Constructors, a full service carpentry contractor. "Our nominees and winners are an outstanding example of what is possible when a project team works together towards their common goal."

All nominees were evaluated by a panel of experts on their bid ethics practice, equitable contract/purchase order provisions, safety policy and practices, payment practices, jobsite supervision, scheduling coordination, subcontractor/vendor relations, and administrative procedures/paperwork.

BSI Constructors, of St. Louis, and LANDCO Construction, based in Creve Coeur, also received Contractor of the Year awards for their size category (large and small, respectively). Kadean won its award in the mid-sized company category.
